Umm.. I don't think they will sound that much different. There are so many different things you need to get a certain sound.

It depends on what you want to do with sound. Don't take my word for it. Exhaust is a touchy subject.

It also depends on what mid-pipe your going to go with. To say one is better than the other depends on what your personal goals are. Some people are never happy. Flowmaster is notorious for drone, but produces a great sound. Exhaust is such a tricky area that's why we usually don't entertain the topic much.

I have not heard of flow tech. I'd stick with Flow masters, they have good sound and are a quality brand. Anything you do should open that sucker up.

Re: need help fast

Unless you have alot of money to throw at your car, you should make a plan for modding the car based on your use. Mufflers are the last thing to change in the exhaust. If you plan on headers, or x-pipe, h-pipe,o/r pipe, you should change them first. Factory mufflers do not restrict the flow much. just my 02

EVERYONE Has their own opinion on what sounds good and bad, its just an opinion thing... they wont really add any power. Ford racing / Borla (same thing) sound rather good noise wise its just up to you to hear them and see if they work for you.

Re: need help fast

I have the Flow Techs- they do sound great! They are made by Holley, so you know they are well made. Exhaust on an S197 is usually one of the first mods, because it is an easy one. Headers, unless you go with long tubes, are a complete waste of money. We put a set of CARB- approved equal length shorties on a 2008 GT, and verified on a dyno at Marcy Motorsports that they gave us exactly 2HP. Not a good investment, considering the headers cost $485, plus two days of installation time.
