Trunk is dark

As anyone thought about adding a light to the trunk area..if i wire it through the map lights it should work..what do yall think?

I've thought about doing them and I would just wire a switch to them and have the switch in the trunk as well.

I think its a great idea! a simple easy saturday project. go to the junkyard and salvage one from like a mercury spray it black cut a hole and do a small amount of wireing. man that sounds like a fun simple little project plus I LOVE JUNKYARDS!! I always find lots of goodies

I decided to make the whole thing from hand..tested at 12volts stable, im proud

Tap into the wires that power the trunk bulb. Add how ever many feet of led strips you want and enjoy. Ill post my trunk tomorrow and let you see what 8 feet of white leds will do. I have it where the lights them self are not visible.

When I wired all of my trunk lights I tapped them into the trunk light so that when I open the trunk all of the lights come on and when it is closed they go off......Here are a couple pictures of my trunk...

8 feet ..you got the sun in your trunk not light...what trunk bulb?

On my 03 there's a regular bulb that is for the trunk its right beside the third brake light I tapped into those wires. Here's the pic.

use some nice LED's, a transformer and wire it right to your latch for power, should work fine

Yea i guess my bulb kept falling out on my 07 and somehow the wire snaped tried to fix it and just make it worse went to ford and dey wanted 40 for a new bulb plus 60 for labor WTF! I hate how they try to rape u for parts!
