What's next?

Hey guys, I know it's early but I'm looking at ideas for a second car. obviously a mustang, I'm thinking 05-09 model gt. But I'm worried about gas, how do you gts do on gas? Would i be better off to get a v6 and turbo it and what not? And do you guys wrap up the stang for the winter and bring out the 4WD.

Thanks!

I have an 06 gt as a daily driver. I am getting about 18-19 city driving and 21-23 highway. As long as you keep your foot out of it the milage isnt too bad!

Re: What's next?

There is some clean 05-09 GT for sale on S197. Even few SC ones. That are not crazy expensive.

Hybrid. You'll be happy with the gas MPG.

So I would be better off to get a gt then get a v6 and turbo it? I like the quick goes of the line, so gas would be a problem.

The 4.0 sohc is a pig on gas for a V6. Better off to get a GT.

Re: What's next?

I have an 05 gt premium and its really on how heavy your foot is, the 05 gt has a fuel usage display in the message center that REALLY does help you learn how to have a lighter foot and get max milage. keep the revs up and the peddle pushed threw the floor and you will go threw a tank of gas like its going out of style lol

Re: What's next?

I drove to San Diego and back, a round trip of 717 miles. We hit gridlock in the heart of Los Angeles both ways, climbed the Grapevine, (4400'), and still averaged 24.8MPG. Mine is a 5.0 stroker with cams, ported heads and all the rest of the Saleen mods. The V-6 that rolled with us averaged 21.6. Go figure....

I say get the GT.

So realistically nothing at all. Maybe $150 more a year.

Hint for bettr mpg: cai, ignition, and stick
Eithr way its been proven b4 and after the **** tht invented emissions a v8 no mater wut always gets bettr power/mpg
But a v6 wth a turbo and good cai + tuner shud get a pretty fair rep for power to mpg ratio may not be a dragster but itl give u bettr mpg and great driveability mines got bbk cai and streight pipe i get 19-24 wth a lead foot ^_^ its truely in how u work the throttle to
