Re: Nitrous Question

did you over rev the engine ?
I've over reved engines before and it'll sometimes cause a Nitrous backfire
sometimes it can damage things , like carb's or throttle bodies ,sometimes it does no harm ..............

I may be wrong, but I think "over reving" would be to hit the rev limiter with nitrous. Here is a quote from American Muscle website.

If you engage nitrous too high or low you can cause serious engine damage. Nitrous below 2500 RPM can cause detonation, or hitting your rev limiter with nitrous can result in dangeous intake system backfires.

Do you think this is what happened to you?

Re: Nitrous Question

It's a pleasure!

BTW, I would recommend a ZEX Mustang Traction Control Window Switch ZEX-82085 - Free Shipping! to avoid this kind of situation to happen again.

All in all, it seems like a great device.

Here is what you can read about it on American Muscle website:

Increase Nitrous Control. Get the control you need over you Mustang's nitrous system for faster times and improved system safety. With features such as skip shift and the ability to set activation and deactivation RPM, the ZEX traction control window gives you ultimate flexibility. You can easily set the RPM range your system activates in at both the upper and lower limits with this powerful electronic module.

Faster Times. A huge advantage when running on street tires or in low-traction situations, the ZEX traction control switch lets you control what gear nitrous begins to spray in. This can dramatically improve your 60 foot and quarter mile times by allowing you to hit the juice once your tires have traction.

Protect Your Engine. Having a ZEX traction control switch adds an important level of safety to your nitrous system. If you engage nitrous too high or low you can cause serious engine damage. Nitrous below 2500 RPM can cause detonation, or hitting your rev limiter with nitrous can result in dangeous intake system backfires. A ZEX traction control system lets you avoid triggering nitrous too high or too low on your tach.

Application. The ZEX traction control system is compatible with all nitrous kits on the market today.
