06 Throttle Body Problem

Okay, it's my turn to say that I screwed up. I removed and disassembled the throttle body from my stang because it appeared (to me at least) that the throttle blades were not opening all the way. After finding no intertnal adjustments I reassembled and reinstalled the throttle body and all the engine would do is start and idle. There was no throttle control so I rechecked the throttle body and the drive motor and gear appear to be ok as they rotate like they should but when I reinstall the TB the same problem exists.

Any advice anyone?

Re: 06 Throttle Body Problem

I had the same problem. Drove me Crazy for like an hour. The problem is the return spring in the DBW Motor is wound too tight. Remove dust cap and take out one turn on tensioner. that will solve the problem. whatever you do dont overtighten it will ruin the spring. You will have to buy a new throttle body, the spring is not sold seperately. TB is $395.00.

Thanks for the advice and it was indeed the spring. I have it corrected now and would like to tell everyone that I really appreciate the help.
