SCT 2007 Gt

Just got a SCT. I've got K&n cai, flowmaster 40's axle back. Is there a good tune profile to follow? I used the 87 oct for now, until I can burn a 1/2 tank & fill up with 92.

I would just use the preloaded tune!.. Don't mess with anything else until you can get it tuned by a shop!..

Is it worth the 92 oct tune at this point?

Re: SCT 2007 Gt

I've got a Steeda CAI w/SCT Tune.......what a difference that add-on with the tune made. Like night and day......performance was so much better. I use 93 octane and Ford recommends using premium fuel in my 07.

So after filling up with 93 & re-tuning. What's the next performance improvement suggested?

Re: SCT 2007 Gt

As you all know though, the list is long....but, I'm at the junction of deciding what SC to get. Leaning towards the Edelbrock or the Keene Bell.

Re: SCT 2007 Gt

I thought that I had made my decision to go Keene Bell, but then I looked at the Edelbrock Unit at Brenspeed3.....check it out...their stage 2 is good for 600hp! and I like the looks of being subtle...hehehe!

^ +1, I've heard the edelbrocks don't provide the best gains for the price.

Re: SCT 2007 Gt

Yeah there's probably about $1000.00 dif. But, till ya go to buy then maybe you can get some type of deal....Brespeed3, in Indiana, installs the Edelbrock and up in my area I would go to Livernois Motorsports for the Keene Bell.

I've still got a 1/2 tank of 87 to burn instead of draining it.

Let your car get to the empty line driving it normally, then fill it with 93 octane.

---------- Post added at 08:59 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:58 PM ----------

That, or you could have the tank drained.

My SCT came with 3 built in tunes, one for each octane, just like BAMA.

When you do the tune, after your done, get a friend and hook up a laptop and follow the data logging info so you can send it to your tuner and they can make changes if needed.

Can you view the data afterwards on the laptop? Or is it just a data file that the tuner can utilize?

Re: SCT 2007 Gt

You should be able to view it. SCT has the programs that come with you tuner that you download to computer. Of course you have to keep the software updated, but other than that you should be good to go.

When I change from 87 tune go a 93 tune, do I need to go back to stock first then 93 or can I go straight from 87 to 93 without writing over my stock stored tune?

If the SCT tuner is anything like the DiabloSport tuner (which I hear it is)!.. Then the first time you go to upload the 93 tune, it will first save and record your factory tune!.. It will then automatically upload the 93 tune!.. Now if your talking about going from one of the tunes in the device to another then no!.. You can just switch directly to the 93 tune!..
