I think you should get cams also. But get the breenspeed cams and get glom aster American thunder exhaust and Mac headers and it will sound perfect

Re: What do you think.

These cams are probably terrific when everything is well tuned.

My only concern with these stage 2 cams would be the drivability, but since I never tried them...

Maybe I would also consider the stage 1 cams since they sound really good too... Well, to be honest, I only heard them on YouTube, but it gives an idea.

Don't down gears. I bet gears will get you as good of a performance increase or better compared to cams and will probably be cheaper.. Gears are awesome.

Re: What do you think.

Depending on what set of cams you choose, as well as other mods you want to invest in, 3.73 rear gears are also great, especially on a daily driver, but I guess 4.10 are better for quarter mile.

Highjack alert!! :

Question 1: I plan on doing some track road racing very very soon while somehow still using it as my daily driver... Until I find a nice 2000-2003 SVT focus then I'll make the Stang a track car. Im trying to decide between going n/a ( built bottom end, heads, cam, intake) should be pushing 450-500 wrhp or built bottom end and some type of blower... What cam would you suggest for road racing... I'd like to build her up for higher rev maybe red line at 8000 rpms

Question 2: if I can't make the track thing work is there a cam out there that gives off a nice lope but not too loud? The only cam I heard on a 05-09 4.6 was loud as all get out and I want to stay away from that... I like the b cam from the fox body days...

And FYI I ran 4:10s on a 93 coupe w FRPP e cam and It was my daily... got better mpg than my 97 cobra w 4:10s... Both were fantastic dailys and really fun to drive especially when the rear tires were worn out...

Re: What do you think.

i thought it was a good idea to do cams and gears so its easier to drive, but i would do gears first, more of a sleeper that way

IMO, that's a good idea. Lower rear gears (like 3.73 or 4.10) without cams upgrade work great, but cams upgrade without lower rear gears (depending on cams profile) may not necessarily be easy to drive, especially at low speed.

+1
I've got cams and 3.73 and have great drivability. Most manufacturers recommend 3.73 or other gear swap to go with the cams. Usually the more aggressive the cam the higher the gear ratio....3.73 vs 4.10 or 4.30.
