Transmission Pop and Whine SCT Automatic

I recently got back from a trip with my '08 GT Auto. During the trip coming to a stop I noticed when I had been cruising at highway speed the transmission will pop and make a whining noise. I never noticed this when my car had a stock tune. This only happens when coming to a stop from a high speed. Driving to work of a morning I usually cruise around 55. Today I drove on a highway (atleast 70) a good distance as I sat in traffic it wouldnt do it but when I got up to speed around 55 then slowed down it would pop and whine going into second or maybe first. I am running a SCT strategy tune right now but also can recieve Bama tunes. Is this a normal thing? Normal thing with tuners? or should I call SCT and get a specific tune made for my car?

Re: Transmission Pop and Whine SCT Automatic

Doesn't sound "normal" I wouldn't think....but never having had an auto mustang I really wouldn't know. Hopefully some of the other auto guys will chime in and can help you out. Have you had the trans serviced or placed a shift kit?

I have an SCT 4 bank eliminator chip in my 95 GT Auto. On the street tune there is a slight whine from the transmission barely audible, on the performance and race tunes it can herd easily and constantly. Only thing I can come up with is that the added pressure for firmer shifts is the cause.

Never herd of 'popping' from a transmission before.

The popping only occurred a couple of times the whining was a consistent thing when the car was drove a long distance.

I've never done anything to the transmission. I took it in for an oil change and asked bout getting it serviced they told me recommended to be serviced at 30k but around 60k is when they do most of the servicing.
