Fixed my stripes

My stripe kit ended at the edge of my bumper instead of wrapping all the way down- drove me crazy. My local shop wanted $150(!!) to fix it. I. Don't think so.... so, new bumper stripes finally done! That vinyl is weird scary stuff to work with...

The last photo is what it used to look like. Pleased with my results and very relieved I was able to do this.

Looks great. I like how it wraps around. It completes the stripe look.

I was!! I had no idea what I was in for. It is not easy, and it's an exacting process- not much room for screw ups- and considering how much each piece or vinyl costs- and the fact that you can't get them 'ala carte' ... Yeah I was nervous.

Re: Fixed my stripes

Looks great! Was it as nerve-wracking as drilling the hood for the hood pins?

Yeah pretty much. It sure took a heck of a lot longer. Although I probably spent 45 measuring before I did the hood pins

Re: Fixed my stripes

I put hood pins on my black Mustang. I measured, re-measured, chucked a bit in the drill, breathed real hard, gave up and drank a beer. Went back 2 nights later and drilled away. One of the hardest things I ever did. I don't know if i would attempt big stripes like you did. Good job!

Looks good. haha I had to drill holes in my hood for my hood scoop..and the cold weather warped the Hood Scoop so now it looks like **** when its on..and it looks like **** when its off..New hood is the only true cure.

Oh that just sucks
I would like to put a scoop on but I'm afraid that
1. It would be too much... I mean Ive got stripes, hood pins, a splitter, fancy wheels.... I don't want to overdo it
2. I'm afraid if something went wrong it would mess my stripes up.

But I've spent a lot of time getting my front end to look the way I want, so I think I'll leave it alone for awhile. I need to do my suspension next anyway...

I don't know if you'd be into a black hood but one of the shops I hang around sometimes has a gorgeous black Rousch hood with a scoop that someone is selling for a crazy low price- like 350 or something.... I almost considered it just because it's such an awesome hood.
