Fix for Cheap Fake Carbon Kit

I recently bought my new 06 Mustang GT and it came with one of those Cheap Fake Carbon Fiber dash kits. I do actually like the look of carbon fiber on the dash, but this kit is coming off and has discolored most of the dash pieces under it. I need some ideas on how to remove this cheap kit and what to replace it with that will look great and cover up the damage the previous owner did, installing this kit.

Thanks Everyone for your help with this issue!

A blow dryer and then peel it off, use goo gone or rubbing alcohol to clean it up

There is a real carbon fiber kit that isn't too expensive. If you cant get the original to look good. That could be an option for ya

Re: Fix for Cheap Fake Carbon Kit

Have you seen the real carbon fiber kit? I am wondering if it looks good? I would like to recover with either carbon fiber or brushed aluminum. Also where did you see the real carbon fiber kit?

Yeah, actually there was a post yesterday about this, some pics of cars with carbon dash kits as well. And I know roush has the carbon fiber kits. I didn't read that entire post, but I bet there are some replies about where else to get them

I personally don't think they look bad.. But I would much rather spend the time and money on parts that make me go fast than that.. Lol.. But I am also not in your situation (where the dash looks like crap if it's discolored) so that would probably jump up to the top of my to do list if it was!

I started the other carbon fiber thread ... I'm still on the fence about it. I love real CF but I also love the beautiful minimalism of my black interior... Anyway, I did a ton of research. Looks like the Roush one s the " best." as far as quality- also most expensive. There are some great dash options at carid.com, and a company called Sherwood makes a decent kit. Good luck with fixing the messed up one.
