You don't get them..

BUT must SCT tuners have preloaded tunes.. I can do just about anything with mine.. Any CAI (steeda/JLT/roush/etc) custom exhaust, all kinds of things..

I found a used JLT CAI/SCT tuner combo on eBay for 200.. Unlocked and ready to go, with all those preloaded tunes!

Doesn't it have to be tuned to your PCM

Re: Tuner

The answer to your question is simply, YES. Normally, an SCT will attempt to recognize your motor etc. End statement is this: If the tune is not for your engine it will destroy it. Period!!! My advice, don't mess around if your a novice. Go find a tuning shop and make it worthwhile, save money, and your engine.

I appreciate your input. And I realize I was rude here venting about this issue, but I was professional in my conversation with the tech. Also, I did call Bama direct. I really don't know why its a problem for them to write tunes for me, I mean there is very little difference between the two cars. One was a 06, the other a 08. This is why I was upset when I started writing here. Oh well, it will work out...thinking I might just sell the tuner..anyway, thank you for your thoughts.

U did not hurt my feelings... I understand, btw bama so I've been told is not good tuners anyway... They are under new Managment and they lost sight of quality "custom" tunes... Now they are all about profits... I could b way wrong but that's what I was told by a reliable source... I'd go through steeda does not cost much anyway

Yeah I'm not to sure about the bama tunes now that I have tried them. Have the 93 octane custom performance tune for my Airaid CAI and it seems to me that I was getting better performance with the preloaded tune with 91 octane for the same intake on my diablo trinity.

Well said man!!! Don't let sales gimmicks decide which tune you get! 1 good tune is better then 3 ok tunes or a lifetime worth of sub par tunes

Re: Tuner

Canned tunes are great but a good dyno tune should always net better gains i would think seeing as they are for YOUR car and not a canned generic tune that is used across the board. Just saying.....

NOW, That being said in my old car I always used the canned tunes from SCT with good results. So I guess againn it goes back to the post...

To each he's own...
