OEM navigation system

I have a 2007 mustang GT and I'm looking put in a stock navigation system (OEM) I do not want an aftermarket one even if it had more features. I see them alot on eBay for not much. Mostly like 500. Has anyone done this and can share some insight on how it was and costs.

Re: OEM navigation system

are you wanting it for the touch features or because you need a nav system? My wife has a nav system and we pretty much never use it as its a MAJOR pain... you cant type or interface with it while driving other than through voice commands (sync) and it never works with voice commands....

basically its neat for the touch screen for the different stuff you can do but not for the nav.

Cost effective? No! You will need gps antenna a map cd wiring and your factory wiring will not support sync, or a touch screen

Re: OEM navigation system

You can do it, the head unit will plug in, you will need to get GPS ant, cost about $80. You will not have Blue tooth, or voice comand. Bigest problem is most units are programed to the car VIN. I read a good post in one of the other forums, were they installed one. I have seen them installed in 2 hours at the dealer i worked at.
