Unless you are racing or have 20 inch rims, big brakes won't serve much more than just a cosmetic upgrade. There are plenty of nice stock size after market rotors that will function and look better than the stock ones. Spending 1.5 to 3 k might be better spent on some HP mods. If I were going to upgrade my wheels and brakes I would look into Baer or Brembo front and rears.

I know there are only a handful of 18" wheels that can accommodate a big brake kit. There are some threads out there of guys who are installing the 13" inch rotors from 2012 5.0 onto 05-09 GT with just having to swap out the caliper bracket. Our stock front rotors are 12.44".

Also consider the fronts do 75% of the work.

Re: Brakes!

I did both front and rear, but do front first. I have SSBC, their tech help is superb. Research wheel fitment as well. Most companies will have a template that you can download and cut out to make measurements.

Re: Brakes!

Don't know much about DBA, but the SSBC's come with slotted rotors. From the research that I've done....cross drilled rotors if not done right can lead to cracking. That's mostly from not putting a champher or deburring the hole.

Sure! And that might suck!
I watched them in AmericanMuscle and made a research and they seemed to be very cool

Re: Brakes!

I just looked at the DBA's at AM and they look to have a champher on them. Kinda of pricey but you get what you pay for....so I would think that they are probably a pretty good product and you won't have any probs with AM if you need help or returns.

Re: Brakes!

I went with Baer Pro Plus 6P, 6 Piston Calipers, 14” 2 Piece Slotted & Drilled Rotors on the front:

and OEM size Baer slotted and drilled rotors in the rear:
