Passenger Window Not Going Up Far Enough

I've noticed the last couple of months that my passenger window isn't going up as far as it should. I can easily put my finger on the top of the window glass when it's rolled up. I'm sure if I really wanted to I can squeeze my finger through to the inside.

Anyone have any suggestions? I've never had to deal with windows but I'm assuming I can open up the door panel and somehow move it up like 1/4"?

Same happened to me. This is what you do.

1. Sit in car and shut doors.
2. Roll windows all the way up.
3. Roll windows all the way down.
4. Roll Windows all the way back up.
5. Done

You reset the computer for how far the window travels for the automatic slide. (when the window comes down as you open the door)

Hope that helps

I don't. I just do the window sensor and it starts working again.

Does it not go all the way back up manually? Like when your in the car and the door is shut? Or only when you leave the car, you notice the gap?

Re: Passenger Window Not Going Up Far Enough

No luck with that technique. I've only had the car for a few months so it could very well have been doing this when I purchased it.

It doesn't seem to want to come up any more, may have to take the door panel off and do some googling/forum searching.

Might want to check your regulator. I heard that they can go out pretty quick. And are you getting any water or moisture in the passenger side area?

Re: Passenger Window Not Going Up Far Enough

Here is how you reset it. roll your window all the way up and "hold" the button up to the count of 5. Then roll it all the way down and hold the button down for the count of 5. This will fix your issue.

Re: Passenger Window Not Going Up Far Enough

No such luck gents. I've read other posts on the internet with the same solution and it seemed to fix everyone's...except mine.

I've done the hold up & down for so many seconds, nothing.
I've reset the battery while the windows were rolling up & down, nothing.

Just lost on what to do besides looking inside the door to see if it can be adjust up 1/8-1/4".

You could take it apart. But my old truck had the same problem. Found out that the motor was bad. Could look into that

Sounds like the pins and gears in the motor may be worn.
