Quest for 12s

Ok I recently went to the track and the best I could achieve was a 13.2 with a 1.9 on street tires, there was also strong 30 mph winds blowing right down the track if that makes a difference,

Will since traction was a problem I've order 15x8 jeg stars and Micky Thompsons which in sure will get my in the 12s but to seal the deal I want to add one more mod!!! Which of the three do you think will help the most in the 1/4

Off road x pipe

CMDPS

Under drive pullies

The reason I picked these 3 is price and install is relatively easy

I've raced harleys for 20 yrs. With a 1.9 I don't think traction was a problem . U mite get a 1.8 w tires. I think it'll take all the above to get the 12s. 1.9 is pretty respectable for a street car.

That was a Launch off idle I posted the video, now imagine if I could dump the clutch at 3 grand, and I spun in second to top it off

I want a 1.7 60 foot.

Here's the video again to show you how I had to baby it out of the hole

And how come you don't install the under drive pullies on your car? Thanks tho but imma try the off road x pipe first

---------- Post added at 08:44 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:43 PM ----------

Also I was racing into 30 mile an hour winds, do you think that would affect the time by at least a tenth

I said I have a off road x... It's UPR, and it's less than 6 months old... Replacing due to long tubes

Glad to see good times posted up by a 3v I was getting tired of seeing 13.8-14.2 with mods...

Consecutive runs causes your clutch to get hot, causes slipping.. That's why I placed 2nd in Reginal high school bracket racing... I beat a 99 cobra on slicks in a sentra see spec v lol at suck *** drivers...

Btw if it's your daily I would not recommend the following : never let off the throttle (power shift)

And getting a dyno will help see your power band... By shifting at proper rpms will drastically reduce your times... I think these cars should never be pushed pass 5800 rpms (relatively stock)

That's what I've been running with great disapointment. I had 4.10 gears k&n fipk, bbk twin 62 tb, Ford racing intake manifold, steeda udp, o/r xpipe and nitto 555r Dr's and a custom tune and the best I did was 13.976. Just got the jlt series 3 and can feel a kick in the pants around 4k and have installed nitrous but haven't gotten a chance to make a run with it. My trips to the track have been very disappointing. Driver mod needed.

Yea it just takes practice ... You should stop modding until u know your car... If u keep modding it b4 you get your times down you will keep spinning your wheels (no pun intended lol) get used to what you have... Drop a second off your time then proceed to mod

I can get a new one for 129 shipped on summit racing so I might hold off, that's a good deal just the shipping kills it

You need to change the LCA lowers and probably the upper as well. It makes a big difference for launch. It really locks the axle, much better.

I'm picking up the following:
Uca $60
Gt500 tb $25
Steeda tri ax $on trade

I still need:
Lca front and rear
Front and rear sway bars
Newer cold air (I have 1st gen jlt...lame)
Shocks n struts
Aluminum drive shaft
Aluminum fly wheel
Beefy clutch

All b4 I'll even consider taking her to the track... I'm way hard on my cars at the track, and I'm afraid I'll blow her up... Plus I have bad luck

Oh crap I was hoping you where going to say Denver, but ya sea level huh, ok well unless your a really bad driver which I doubt cause I could run a 14.1 missing third haha

Ok i think something is wrong with your car, how many miles? If higher miles I would suspect fuel filter, fuel pump ( could still work just not 100% ) spark plugs, for starters

Then describe in as best detail how you make your pass, including burnout and shift points, did you drive thru the water box or back up into it? I need to see your whole slip too, we will get to the bottom of this guy

Id take it now, so you get a base, I wish I did but track wasn't open in the winter and I only installed 3 mods, well 2 that make a difference

Ya I'm driving now to get the tires, well I'm stopped washing the car now haha

---------- Post added at 07:53 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:49 AM ----------

Also yes 15x8 for the rear and I'm running 275/50/15s I've seen cars do wheel stands with these tires so traction will no longer be an issue and the price haha almost 700 to get 18 inch drag radials mounted I'll be paying about 400 for both rim and tire for the 15s, rims are 120 new and tires I got used for a steal
