Suspension question

What's the difference between HD strut mounts and caster camber plates? I was told I should probably get HD strut mounts when I do my suspension (upgrading shocks and struts, lowering springs and panhard bar) but would caster camber plates work as well or better?

Strut mounts are what come from the factory. The have an internal bearing and rubber isolator to dampen the feel of the road to the body of the car.

Camber plates are essentially the same but can be adjusted for camber once you lower the car.

Re: Suspension question

Caster/Camber Plates (or C/C Plates) just allow the strut shaft to be shifted foward/back or side to side for caster/camber adjustment instead of just bolting down and having no adjustment as stock units tend to do.

If you lower the car the tip of the tire pulls in ward (same thing happens when you go over a bump as the shock/spring compresses)

The plate can be pulled outward to offset the difference in a lower spring has so normal driving you are back in a good area for tire wear or handling.
