Best tune?

Hey guys! I just recently got a SCT tuner from AM, what tunes do you all run in? Do you keep it in street? Performance? Race? Or do you a risky change them? Thanks!

Re: Best tune?

I recommend not changing the tune very often, (like weekly often)

I ran one tank on street, one on performance, and I'm about to run one on race. Is it bad for the engine to run long distances on race?

No it's not bad to keep them on race. I actually had same question and called BAMA and they said it was completely ok. I do t though due to the fact mine will shift hard( mine is a manual). Mine is always on performance.

Your mpg will go down on race tune. It using a higher flue to air ratio. The tune designed for better fuel efficiency is the street, uses a lower ratio.

I saw better fuel efficient on performance than on street tunes... I was thinking that street tunes was going to give me better mpg. I ran my street on 89 and performance on 91.

I just drove 250+ hailers and I got 24.0 MPG on race, I'll tune it to performance and reset it on the way home and I'll update.

Anything 91 will give you better MPG..

really if you do the math... It will cost you About 3 to 4 dollars more per upgrade (87 to 89 to 91).. And each tune will net you better MPG.. Enough to where it will even out..

87 at cheaper gas prices = 91 at better MPG

Mpg is really about cost.. And it evens out.. So run the BETTER tune..
