Just get SS or ceramic coated, they should all fit fine, check out the reviews at AmericanMuscle

Long tubes will more then likely bolt directly on iv talked to many shops about it and when I put the pypes long tubes on my 2010 I had to cut the engine mount on one side and cut part of the k member and bend it and re weld it so it would clear it with out any issues

I installed pypes lt 2 weeks ago. Clearance was perfect everywhere. One minor issue, had to grind 1/16" off bottom front DS flange. Bolt grabbed a thread an half, didn't want it to cross thread. Install them yourself. It's a pita, but you won't have any cross threaded bolts. It could happened very easy. Take your time and its a simple install. Took me and gf 10hrs. A.M. has a decent write up.

Did you like the pypes? Did you notice performance gains or just more sound?

U need same brand mid pipe if u want it to bolt up. Performance is great. Don't like the NASCAR sound, its going to jail loud. Putting mufflers back on.

---------- Post added at 04:42 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:39 PM ----------

Performance wise, u really feel it when car comes on cam, say 3-3500rpm.

I've got kooks LT's on my 2010... Fit great with no modifications needed. I would recommend sticking with same manufacturer for mid pipe just to ensure proper fit.

What do you have for the rest of your exhaust?

With the same headers and midpipe will the mid pipe go right to the stock cat back? And is the whole story about mustangs needing back pressure and needing to keep cats on true?

I have the chrome bbk longtubes with a off road bbk x pipe and Borla stingers. It's actually quieter and idle, but when the rpms are up there, it screams. Install wasn't too bad, took about 10 hours.

---------- Post added at 06:49 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:42 PM ----------

Actually that could have been confusing. I mean it's quieter at idle than when I had a offroad x, stingers and stock manifolds. But anything above 3000 rpms, and it's twice as loud with a much better sound.

Yeah I was going to go with the longtube bbk and bbk x pipe. What is the sound like with those? And what about the back pressure people always talk about with no cats

I installed a set of ceramic coated Kooks with their hi flow catted H pipe. Yes it was one of the more expensive setups. The fitment was perfect and the sound is amazing with my KR500 axle backs FRPP. What ever you choose , make sure you use a new set of stock metal gaskets.

It will go to the stock cat back. I highly recommend doing some research on the sound you want. I have the high flow catted x mid pipe. I had the roush extreme cat back which just has resonators in the mid pipes and muffler deletes that go over the axel. Sounded super mean but once I put on the LT's it was way too loud and had massive drone I side. So I replaced the muffler deletes with Borla stingers and love the sound!!!! With the resonators still in the mid pipes it just about killed all the drone too.

Originally I was going to go with full mac exhaust. longtubes prochamber and axleback but now I'm thinking about going with the bbk longtube and xpipe and maybe the pype midmuffler catback to try to get the 2v or 4v cobra sound

---------- Post added at 12:06 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:00 AM ----------

Plus macs headers don't have a flange so they might lead to problems down the road. Bbk has a good flange

Try copper coat...
It's a rattle can that makes a sticky adhesive and you apply it to both sides of the gaskets and the side of the headers that meet the gaskets... You will never have a leak

Good choice. I don't like when it doesn't have the mustang tone to it and sounds like a gm car with straight pipes.

It's not going should like a healthy push rod motor! No matter what you do to it, it will always sound like a mod motor, if that's what your into, I don't expect half the people on here to know much but if you can't tell the difference from a push rod motor to mod ohc motor then you got problems

Idk in I can justify the cost, plus I plan on a power adder, and is the FRPP cams good with a supercharger?

They have SC cams but they don't give you that sexy idle

Yeah, they say they are good for both N/A and SC applications. Ford was gonna come out with a FI version of the hit rod cams but it showed very little gains over the regular hot rods.... Not enough gain to justify the price difference. I know the thumpers make good NA HP but have heard they aren't really FI friendly.

---------- Post added at 04:25 AM ---------- Previous post was at 04:16 AM ----------

Anderson ford motorsports has some nasty sounding cams too! There's a NA 3v putting down I think around 440 rwhp with a set of theirs. MM&FF did an article on them.

I just got BBK Long Tube Headers on mine, about two or three weeks ago. I did have to change my X-pipe to the matching X-pipe to the Headers, so I went from a MagnaFlow X-pipe to a BBK X-pipe. Other than that, no problems at all.

Like the sound from it? Is it deeper or raspy? What axleback do you have?

There is a difference in the sound, Deeper and stronger, the rest of my Exhaust is "MagnaFlow". You will notice a difference, I was expecting a little difference, because I already had an Exhaust on it minus Headers, but the difference is more than a "little", it is a big difference.
