loss of power!

For some reason my pony has recently seemed to have lost power!
I have new royal purple oil in it, new transmission fluid and screen, new cooling fluid, new air filter, I clean my sparks every 3-6 months and I'm about to change the fuel filter. Any thoughts on what's causing the loss of power?

Re: loss of power!

As mentioned before, try cleaning the MAF sensor. Be sure to use spray cleaner that is labeled MAF cleaner, however. How many miles on the car?

Re: loss of power!

If you had over 100k on the car, I would have suggested getting the 02 sensors looked at.

No there is no CEL but something to consider is the weather here in New Orleans has been crazy and there has been a few flash floods lately i don't know if water got into the engine bay.

Does it run fine in neutral? Can you rev through to 5500 rpm? Or is it weak always? What year? Auto or 5 speed?

Did you put the same weight oil in when you used royal purple?

If its not the fuel filter, you may have a bad coil pack. I replaced several on my old expedition.

Run a fuel system cleaner through after you do the filter. You could have dirty injectors.

Ok so I changes the filter ran a cleaner through and there's a little difference it just seems that when I'm driving and want to gain speed I push the gas and it seems like it takes a while before the engine revs and changes gears?!!

Do you have a manual or auto transmission? If its auto you could have a lack of fluid. Something else to look into is the throttle body. Try running some cleaner through it. If its gummed up then you won't get a good throttle response.

I have an auto and I just had my transmission flushed and the filter changed about 2 1/2 weeks ago at Ford. I'm still gonna try the throttle cleaner though! Thanks

The other thing could be a lack of power to the TB. Corrosion in the wires or something like that.

When in park do you get good throttle response? Can you floor it and it's normal?
