Hurst billit short throw moves

Hey guys. My shifter just started slide forward and backwards yesterday. Everything feels pretty tight. Any ideas. Here is a video of it.

Was that the front bushing of the shifter arm.

No joke....this exact sam happened to me on Saturday. I just put my new rear end in and did a 1-2 powershift and the shifter hit the bottom of the bezel. I was like WTF. Had to drive home in third gear about 10 miles LOL. Found out the bolt in the front backed out. Luckily the bolt was still in the bushing. Didnt mess up the threads though. Just loctited the hell out of it. Seems great now.

I would loctite the bolt real good. I wonder if the sleeve we have to transfer to the bushing has anything to do with it?

It's easy to install. Just use lock tight on the bolt that is holding the shifter still up front! If you don't you might not be lucky enough to find it on the crossmember when it wiggles out. And even though the instructions say to drop the drive shaft you don't have to. With patience and the right angle you can squeeze it through the top from inside the car.

Make sure to loctite the two bolts that hold the actual shifter arm. And also be sure to use the rubber shims.

I have a hurst and dropped the ds. It was a super easy and clean install though. And I love the shifter. I actually cut my handle down shorter then redrilled the holes and bolted it on. It looks sick low, but it made it a little more difficult to get into reverse :/

Hey Did you install the Hurst competition or the Hurst Billet? So say the Comp has 40% less throw and the Billet 30%. Is there any real difference besides the billet probably lighter and stronger and extra $30?

Mine is the comp. I was mainly referring to the easy install, since same thing. But idk about the difference in throw between the two. Mine is ridiculously short though and I'm obsessed with it.

I only got the billet one cause I had a coupon and it was on sale so it came out to the same price as the comp one.

I got the Billet one and my dad has the Comp on his 08. His rattles like crazy. Mine does not at all. I think the Billet is worth it. Feels very solid as well. A lot of people dont like the Hursts but I love mine. I like the notchy feeling in it. The gears receive each shift very well and ive never missed with it so far.

Really. I powershift it and have had no issues. Maybe because mine has only been in for 3 months. Is yours comp or billet?

Pretty hard. My brother thinks I broke the tranny the last time he rode in it. Obviously I didnt break the tranny. He was just thinking that because i slam the gears.
