Re: how much?

Not sure by looking....but KBB suggest

13k for Private party
11k Trade in

This is with basic options on your model and assuming vehicle condition is excellent.

8500 is kinda low IMO...

Re: how much?

dealers love to rip you off by either giving you nothing for your trade or giving you a good deal but raising the price of the other car to offset it.

the entire time they love to make you feel like they are really bending over backwards to give you a great deal when its you that they are bending over

You need to remember that most dealers use black book value and not blue book. Some will even use a combination of both.

Re: how much?

you will just about 99% of the time be better off selling anything yourself than trading it in. Only reason to trade in is if its not worth your time or something similar.

+1
And some even go off wholesale value.... So whatever vehicles like yours are selling for wholesale they'll generally offer you a little less so they can turn a profit

This is why that make a higher profit on used cars over new. Sell it privately and don't get ripped off.

U have to also take into account the sales tax u won't have to pay if u trade.... Example. $8500x7% is ruffuly $590 off ur tax bill.

You're right it is something that should be factored into the decision. But that's also what the salesman always say at the dealerships. It rarely justifies the lowball offer they make. They'll short you $2,500 bucks and then you save $540 in sales tax.
