Re: Anyone put 22s on 05gt?

20s are right at the limit as to what would actually look good, 21s MAYBE based on style but 20s do the job great when the car is lowered

20's look good, but it's got to be on the right car. On a plain stock S197, I just don't think it looks good... Think of Shelby and Saleen. Those cars look great w/ 20's. Maybe its the body or the stripes idk. Just something makes 20's look perfect on those cars. Just think a car with 20's need something else. Just doesn't work on a plain car. IMO

I say change the wheels.. Not a fan of those but it's not my car lol. Some black deep dish bullits would look nice imo. And +1 on lowering.

20's are too large in my opinion. This is a PERFORMANCE car. They look flush when lowered and fills the gap well in a 'Need For Speed' sort of way but makes me cringe.

I like the look of 20s on that car, but as far as 22s please don't.

But it is your car, so do what makes you happy.

I believe 20's LOOK good but on a performance car it is over kill and has been dyno proven to rob 15-20WHP on our car. I think it is for children.

20's would look good,, as long as they are not solid chrome!! That is ghetto. Get something with some silver or black, or color match to your car, and a little machined or polished aluminum in them and that would look nice!

not if you get some light weight wheels... just be prepared to drop about 2 times more for them lol. and not everyone is going for the most power they can get. Many people want nice looking cars with awesome sounding exhaust because the 412hp is good enough for them.

Everyone has their taste, of course. But 20's?

The HP loss is a combination of weight AND size.

As the demographic changes. Not because it is BETTER.

I did say they look good because they fill the well. I just think on a performance car, they're over kill. When going F/I or heavy N/A there is so much power available it can be ignored.

I highly doubt that, 1hp is equivalent to 550 ft/lbs per second, meaning that if you can move 550 lbs 1 foot in 1 second that is 1 horsepower. I realize that this same standard is not how it is measured on cars, but if anything i would think that an increase in the diameter of a wheel would give it mechanical advantage and actually increase the hp assuming that both wheels were of the same weight but one was larger diameter.

Where are the engineers on here? How about it Ktwisted?

They are close to the same overall size, thinner tires on 20s compared to all that nasty side wall on 18s
