Without FI, I don't see what they could use as an excuse. I doubt they would check the gears, that would be the only issue they could use. I hope it works out. Too bad you can't drop in a 6 speed.

Ya an adjuster is coming out tomorrow, idk what they would be looking for, I guess just signs of abuse, but I bought the car used and only but 5 thousand miles on it, an what failed in the trans actually has a TSB on it

I think you'll be good bro, unless they can prove BEYOND A REASONABLE DOUBT that whatever you did caused it to fail, they cannot deny you warranty work. I think most of the time the reason stuff doesn't get taken care of under warranty is because the dealer feels like it would be a waste of time to even try to look at it. From everything I hear from everyone else it seems to me like that's about 2/3 of the battle with a warranty.

I hope, the dealer and mechanics are really cool, the called me to give me a heads up that the adjuster was coming, and the mechanic out my stock airbox and mid pipe on for me, I also installed the stock tune and blasted the AC and windows and radio till the battery died so it doesn't look like I disconnected the battery it will just look like some one left the lights on

Idk maybe the adjuster won't even look at the car maybe just the trans to make sure I really do in fact need a complete new one

They can't prove what was on the car when you bought it internally. The tune couldn't affect the tranny since its manual. It must be a third party warranty sold by the dealer. I would think that someone at the dealership would be able to approve warranty work and wouldn't be concerned about your pipes or cai. That's cool that they ate helping.

It's a Ford Extended warranty, they said its up to ford to send some one out or not, I assume since the damage is so much they wanna look for them selfs I guess

That's awesome they are so helpful. They must know how to help it get approved. The service dept here is awesome as well, but the sale dept sucks big time. Good Luck.

Update


Adjuster came out today, they didn't like the fact I had a short throw shifter on the car even tho its Hurst brand which comes in the Shelby's or from fords parts catalog

Now the trans specialist are reviewing it :/

Ya well see i don't know if its been denied yet anyways, the ford trans guys are looking into, probably trying to see if they can prove that's why the trans failed, but theres a TSB on that failed part so they should have to prove to me that it wasn't an underlying issue

Ford came thru for me, I feel like crying I'm so happy haha

I'll have my car back Monday with a Brand new trans mission, new CenterForce clutch, and throw out bearing

I can wait knowing there's not a 4,000 dollar repair bill at the end of the week gonna get shoved up my a$$ haha but yes I'll just get ready around the house for her to come home pick up some of that wax she likes so much and maybe some air freshners, I've been working 12 hour shifts expecting the worse so now I'll have an extra grand ill just leave town for a weekend and just drive

Also I'm gonna buy I new short throw pro 5.0 one, I'll sell my new, only 700 miles on it hurst for 50 dollars I just want your stock stuff in exchange!!! That's a deal, my hurst is good no rattle or nothing but the pro 5.0 has adjustable stops, which some one of my strength and driving style need PM me if your interest

I told you they would come thru for you. As far as my experiences go, Ford has always come thru for me and stood behind their product. Congrats!!

Only downfall is it will probably be a week. At least it was when they replaced mine in December. You will wanna scream while waiting for it. LOL

You getting a free rental?

And is your shifter the billet or the comp?

It's the comp, good shifter just not what I need for my style of driving, I love the look and feel but I need the stops on the Pro 5.0

Just curious, I've never used a 5.0, but why wouldn't you go MGW? It's what it run and I've never seen anything but good reviews?

Have you read anything bad about pro 5.0? Haha well I might go with MGW I was on the site earlier and you can have them put stops on it for 15 bucks, either one is good

Yeah, never heard anything bad about the 5.0, but I love my MGW. I never heard about MGW until my friend got it for his 01 ws6, and once I used it, I've never looked back.

Lol, to be completely honest, my 3rd gear synchro isn't in the best shape. It's not the best but I can't really give an accurate account. BUT, I can tell you it's a million times better than stock.

With the 5.0 , you can just push the shifter forward and its going into 3rd no matter what.

I have another buddy who has a hurst, and I can promise you that my MGW feels like night and day compares to his. Now I do like the look of the hurst in our cars more. The hurst just looks natural, almost like it was supposed to come stock.
