Do you have to pass emissions or just regular inspection? Ask a speed shop where to take it. If its throwing a code most won't get under the car. Tell them you bought it that way and it passed last year.

Re: Inspection time... Little worried

deleting the code is NOT what fails you. The code just fails you because it means your 02s or emission system is screwed up, which it can't be.

The car WILL fail if Texas has a tail pipe test which almost every state does. If they don't, you should be fine unless they have a VISUAL inspection too.

In PA, you just pay 20 or 40 extra to appease the garage and they tail pipe test a different car that WILL pass. For visual inspection people often weld fake cats, like my friends 42DD Exhaust for his GTI has 2 full cat 'housings' welded on the outside haha. Straight through inside.

I thought all states but a few did away with the exhaust emissions test, it's mostly all done threw the OBDII

Yea I have never been through an emissions test even with all the crap I've done to my last 2 cars. Then again I live in Louisiana, we do test for anything.

I wouldn't know but in PA there is emission. That being said, deleting the code would not eliminate the increased emissions. So, if the code is there but deleted, the system will still show X number of volume or whatever the hell they measure haha

Indiana hasn't had inspections since 1977. Back then all they checked Wer tires, wiper blades, and head light alignment. I think uncle sams gona make us all do it b 4 long.

It will read that your o2s are not ready...and you can only have 1 or 2 not readies on the inspection cause that happened with my stock manifolds and cats because the race tune turns them off...or so Bama told me

Only a couple of counties in Texas do emissions tail pipe test.

Its based on the county you live in, not where you go, unless you get lucky.

But it doesn't matter about the emissions cause newer cars just get hooked up to the obd and if the sensors are showing that they aren't ready/ not working you won't pass..

Can you get an exception? In IL you can apply for show car status and not have to go to emissions, and you just fill out some forms, send a check, and photos of your car at a show

Dallas and tarrant are emissions too. I'm a state inspector. If you go to a non emissions county, they'll make you sign a legal paper saying you won't be operating it in a emissions county for more than two months out of the next full year.

Someone from a local car club should be able to point you to an inspection place that is less likely to look very close.

I think you need to retune the stock tune and there's a ford reset drive. Cycle that's what I need to do this month

I think it all depends on where you live! I live in pa and not all counties need to pass emissions. I'm in Columbia county and I don't need emission. But I think the next county over need emission.

Nope, Indiana does not do any emissions inspections or tests They stopped in early 80's I believe. Hope they don't bring it back either. Sorry you have to go through with that!
