Straight pipes

As looking at vids online of stangs with "straight pipes" and they all sounded pretty good. After conducting my own experiment I have determined that some people's idea of what straight pipes is is a little different than mine. I just drove my car with nothing but an o/r xpipe and it sounded amazing at idle but as soon as you pressed the gas a little bit it was insanely loud. I'm guessing the youtubers still had cats....anyway, glass packs are going back on. The mid muffler sounded pretty good and I wasn't paranoid about getting pulled over.

They are refering to cars with cats probably. I had them and it sounded great

First route I took was a Pypes o/r x-pipe with some flow masters; very raspy and tinny sounding. After a week or so I ordered the Pypes pype-bomb axle-backs (they are resonater tips, not mufflers) from American Muscle and WOW, what a difference! Very throaty and loud. I think all that unfettered exhaust without cats just beats those baffles in the mufflers and creates that tinny sound. Can sound tame with a gentle foot in the city but it is definitely loud and good sounding. It is very hard to tell the actually everyday sound on YouTube (i tried as well) so experimenting is probably the best idea. Good luck : )

I ran just xpipe. Loudest thing I've ever heard and it didn't sound good. Maybe with resonator tips it would be better.
