N/A power on an 06 3V

From personal exp. what's the most power you've seen come from a stock block, and what was the combo?

Re: N/A power on an 06 3V

Are you asking about max hp with NA motor? or just max hp with stock block.

Re: N/A power on an 06 3V

Generally speaking, I will eventually wind up with a Hellion kit. I figure I'll go ahead and get the forged internal stuff out of the way. In choosing those parts, should I keep stok displacement or go with anything wild for internals? Just curious as to what I might see after doing the internals and my H/C/I......

Planning on BBR stage 1 or 2 cams and sending the heads out for MMR for a stage 3 service.

Going forged, is fine. Then you will not need to worry about it later. May as well stoke to 302. That way you get a little more HP from it. If you add H/C/I you will see around 360

DAMN my friends and their LS motors! Makes me sick that a cam swap in a GTO gets you 409 @ the wheels..........

Re: N/A power on an 06 3V

LS motors are bigger motors. If you want more HP from a NA motor, build a 5.4

If I go to that trouble, Ill grab a 6.2 Raptor motor (Another disappointing FORD project) 5.4 swap would cos so much freaking money. I'd shell out over 1k for the donor...... for what... 30 RWHP?

Re: N/A power on an 06 3V

6.2 is a totally different motor, I have only seen them in all out race cars. A 5.4 , 3valve is a bolt in swap, only mods needed are intake manifold, that is expensive unless you find one used. If you go with LT headers the left side needs minor mod. the 5.4 crank is good to go, you only need rods and pistons to go forged

Interesting..... take off 5.4 parts are cheap too....... What kind of intake are you thinking of? Also, what about the stock wiring, is that a direct fit too?

Re: N/A power on an 06 3V

All you need is a block, 4.6 heads will bolt on. Wiring is the same, use your stock ECM. Couple of manifolds out there, JPC, MMR, Wilson, could be more. If you go SC i think there are a few company's that make blower manifolds.

Re: N/A power on an 06 3V

What are your mods and power? Will any 5.4 donor work with my 3V heads? And from your previous comment, I take it that the stok 5.4 crank is forged?

Re: N/A power on an 06 3V

Use a 2004 or later, cranks are 8 bolt forged. You should get a complete motor, that way you have timing cover, pullys etc.

I have stage 3 heads, comp cams, I beam rods, Probe pistons, Have not had it dynoed, can,t give power numbers.
