big & skinnys

Anyone running them. I'm wanting to get a set. I'm putting 15" MT drs on the rear but not shur how tall I can go seeing how there gonna grow in height. Plain steel wheels are what I'm wanting to buy. Any info on wheel an tire sizes would be greatly appreciated. Also would changing springs help launch, I don't want lowered.

DR's do not grow like slicks do! Your mods and gearing determine your tire height. With out info on your car can not give an opinion

Why steel wheels? I got my Jeg wheels for 119 a piece that's cheap, steel ones cost at least 60-80 maybe more

I'm not finding MTs in metric sizes. All I see is 28 or 30" probably going with the 30" so I know I'll still trap in 4th gear. I have the pro 5.0 shifter and thers no way in hell of hitting 5th. It's like the stock shifter going from 2 to 3rd .

Thanks man, so a 28" will keep me in 4th w 4.10s rite . What would you recommend on the front. I've heard something about a high speed wobble or something to that effect when the rears unload if not matched properly.

Is $325 a good price for the race stars, 15x10 51/2 bs.

Re: big & skinnys

You need radial fronts, also on the 15x10's you need 7.5" BS, if you use 295/55x15 you can use an 8" rim, it is only 1" less in width.

Re: big & skinnys

You bought the wrong wheels !!!!! they will not fit.. You need a back space of 7.25 with a 10" wheel, All so if you plan on racing, those wheels are not legal for use with slicks. Those wheels use std style lug nuts, you must use wheels that have shouldered lugs

Thanks man, got the wheels canceled. What would shipping to 47362 be, I'm interested. Do you have a link I can look them up at. Basohol said he's running 5.5 back space, I really don't understandthe difference other than they'll stick out more. I'm new to cars so all I have to go by is this fourm.

Re: big & skinnys

Basohol has Jeg Stars, if he is running 5.5 BS, his wheels are sticking out 2". Wheels sticking out 2" look like ****. BTW Jeg Star wheels also are not legal for slicks at the drag strip. I will get you a price tomorrow afternoon. Race Star Industries, Inc - Light Weight, Large Caliper Clearing Wheels.

just looked at Basohol,s sig he is running an 8" wheel, these are 10" wide
