Straight pipes? Yes or no?

I got Flowmaster mufflers and they suck, they actually made the car quieter, thinking about getting straight pipes. Should I?

SLP has resonators, it looks like straight pipes but inside there are small holes where the sound travels through to quieten it slightly (not much) and give it a nice toned roar without the awful sound of straight pipes.

Fr500s. Ford racing perfect sound loud as you could want at under acceleration and no drone at cruising.

Just installed the Pypes Pypebombs on my Shelby...with about 100 miles on them I still haven't decided if I like them or not. Sounds good at high rpm, DEFINATELY loud.

The Pypes are the same as the SLP, but with 4" tips / resonators.
