SCT Tuner - No cats

Hey - just bought a 2006 GT. The previous owner removed the converters and had an SCT tuner - but didn't sell the tuner with car to the dealer when he traded it in. Check engine light came on today - cleared code regarding missing cats. Is the SCT Tuner the one to get? Will it be programmed to clear the code for good? Thanks, John

Make the dealership pay for it. To answer your question, yes get an sct and whoever you buy it from will delete the o2s in your custom tune. Hope this helps but like I said make the dealer pay for it.

To answer your q, a tuner will turn the light off for good. But yes, it is illegal to sell a car without cats.
