I disconnected the battery on my 2006 GT so that I could replace the steering wheel. When I reconnected the battery and started the car the A/C still worked great but it only blows out of the defrost vents now no matter which setting I have it on. Been doing it ever since. All the fuses and relays look fine. Anyone know what the issue could be?
Mine just started doing the same thing. The only difference is I didn't disconnect my battery. I went to start my car as usual and no AC would come out of the floor or panel vents. It blows cold and strong but all air is coming out of my defrost vents. I was sent to this link Ford Service Manuals - REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION and was told that my "Defrost Door - Mode Door Actuator" was probably the issue. I bought a new one and replaced it and still nothing. I am now wondering if it is an issue with a different actuator? Maybe my Air Inlet Door Actuator or my Panel/Floor Door Actuator but I am not sure and before I go taking everything apart and replacing all these parts some help/direction would be much appreciated!
Check vaccum lines theres a good chance one of the lines has a vaccum leak.. But that's all I got lol..

I found the problem! There are no vacuum lines in the 05+ mustangs. they are all electric controlled mode doors. I looked up alldata at school and apparently these mode doors need to be calibrated. to do this you need to make sure your car is off. pull fuses 10 and 12 and then turn the power to the ignition on but don't start the car and let it sit for 30 seconds. they should automatically calibrate themselves. after 30 seconds to 1 minute put the fuses back in and start the car. it should work fine. that fixed mine and my A/C vents are now working great. it was a simple fix i wish i would have known about!
