Check Engine Light

I just installed a off-road h-pipe on my 2007 mustang gt and the check engine light came on 5 days later. I know it's due to having no cats but does it usually take that long?? And how can I get it turned off? And lastly is it bad for my car if I leave it on till I can get it turned off??

No not yet, I don't have quite enough money to buy one yet. Is that the only way to turn it off?

As far as I know that's the only way. I haven't heard of anything going wrong if you have a check engine light (unless it's something else).

Cheapest way would be to weld a bung hole in the pipe and install the 02 sensors. But that's money that could go towards a tuner. I installed headers an o/rx and am having the same problem. My tune has been changed 3 times. I've only driven the car 200mi since March because of it. Idk if it will hurt the car, probably not, but I'm not risking it.

Yea my biggest worry is it hurting the car. I was a little puzzled by the fact that it took 4-5 days for the light to come on....is that normal?

Just go find a bolt to plug the holes and get a pair of MIL eliminators to plug into the sensors

You can get a pair of 2004 mil eliminators and modify the connector. I will see if I can find some instructions
