How come you don't just get a black chrome billet grille from American muscle or even just a blacked out grille. They have all kinds of selections

AM has this grill that's blacked out. I'd purchase it now, but lower on priority list.

This is what the billet grille looks like. Received my lower grille today. Can't wait to install it.

No hurt feelings, to each their own. The main reason I like it over the other grilles is that it allows for max air flow across the rad for cooling, unlike the stock grille which has only a tiny opening.

That smaller opening is gonna give it what's called the barn door effect. It will move the air faster.

That effect happens because of the shroud around the rad, not a smaller opening in the front grille. It's great if you can get faster air, but the volume difference is too much to ignore. Plus it's moving just as fast as if you were to have a small opening, and it's on the entire rad, not just a small center portion. Which will allow for better overall cooling.

I would put a bug screen behind the grille. I noticed a lot of bugs collecting on the rad at first which doesn't look very pretty. A dark screen and you can clean it much easier than trying to clean the rad.
