Cold Air Intake

Does anybody have any suggestions on a good CAI that doesn't require a tune for my 2010 4.6? I know it's hard to find one that is actually beneficial without tuning... Any ideas? Thanks!

Thats cause there aren't any, the only one I can suggest if you go the cheap route, is air raid cause they have an insert to make the MAF smaller for stock tune and you remove it when you get a performance tune

The CAI is basic bolt on, the power comes from the tune if u can't afford both, I'd suggest the tune first, and I'm sure everyone on here will agree

What kinda of tune are you talking? Like a bama tuner would work?

I didn't want a tune just yet because it's still under warranty of another year but I guess it won't matter too much. Nothing is going to happen in a year. What else have you guys done to the performance end of your stangs?

Ford just released a statement regarding aftermarket parts... I would not touch anything if u ware worried about warranty... then again it's a Ford and I've never had one break down on me yet.... other then a battery or something similar to that... so go big or go home

They send out email tunes. Go to latemodelrestoration .com and you'll find the BBR tunes on there

So the moral of the story is... If you get a CAI and don't get s tune, its pointless. Don't get one without the other, correct?

On the new 5.0's the CAI make very little difference if any at all... Look and sound cool but that's about it, at least until you go FI

Is this true of all AIrraid CAI because I am looking at getting one for my 2010 4.0 v6? Because it says no tune requires but I plan on buying a tuner later on this year and I like the look/fit of an Airraid on other mustangs I have seen so just wanted to make sure that even though it says "no tune required" I would still get generally the same gains as the CAI's that "require tunes"

For the GTs
Application. This Airaid kit is designed to fit the 2005-2009 Mustang GT with no computer re-tune required when installed with the included "Modular Venturi Tube". The Modular Venturi Tube (MVT) can be removed for off-road use only. By utilizing state of the art computer-aided designs, Airaid Intake Systems offer unmatched fit, finish, and power!

However I didn't see anything about the V6 model

Re: Cold Air Intake

C&L makes a very good CAI w/ a no tune option. It comes with a 85mm MAF and a sleeve, when inserted make the MAF stock size. When you are ready to tune you just slide the sleeve out.

It's all good, I just haven't ever seen it abbreviated before. And yea I was one of the unlucky ones who just couldn't wait for my first mustang so it's a 4.6. I'm trying to build my list to move it up the ranks though!

Is that on the panhandle? I need some place to go close to Atlanta and haven't had any recommendations yet :/

Does it have a significant increase in power? I definitely don't want it for looks and sound.

C&L does make a nice one for the 10', I'm getting it for mine. It's a $20 option on their drop down menu for the insert for no tune.
