Unhappy PYPES exhaust system, Opinions?

When i purchased my 2009 GT from its second owner, with 7,900 miles on it, it came with a PYPES exhaust system.

I got it in february and everything was working great until recently i started to hear a rattle coming from the exhaust. It has come loose and burnt a little of the paint of of the exhaust outline.

I had someone i know look at it and he said the exhaust was coming loose where the two pypes split, and that the rod on the messed up side was a little longer than needed.

Was wondering, since i know NOTHING about exhaust, if this was because PYPES exhaust systems are not all that great, or because who ever installed it didnt do it correctly or didnt tighten it enough.

Thoughts?

Can't say for sure but probably both. Pipes don't have the best fitment and there are also plenty of people that don't know what they're doing with cars that try to anyways

Crawl under there and check if any piping is close to touching the car at all. If so,loosen it up,adjust and tighten her back up. Doesn't sound like a big issue.

Re: PYPES exhaust system, Opinions?

Thanks you guys!

I had the warehouse guy i work with look at it and he pushed it back pretty far, i cant beleive it was THAT loose. Upsets me. But he says it probably just needs to be tightened as well.

Thinking of taking an automechanic class so ican do this stuff myself.

I purchased pypes and installed them myself on my 07 GT. my opinion is as an axle back it's pretty hard to mess up.. But I have the same problem.. My drivers side is not loose and leaks and rattles. This could be poor quality or the fact that I have switched between 4 exhaust setups in 3 weeks time and i couldve messed something up haha. But I have the same issue

My clamps are tightened as much as possible and I can probably remove them from the mid mufflers without loosening them

Pypes is GREAT for the money but despite being out of PA, they are built in China. QC depends on who gave a **** that day.

I have them fitment was ALMOST perfect. Did have some snags.
