CHE K-member brace

Anyone have one or similar? Suppose to help a lot with shifting accuracy in higher RPMs and just add a lot more rigidity

Re: CHE K-member brace

I have one, it has been on the car for a little over a year. I installed it when i swapped to the TR6060, I did not want to switch to poly motor mounts. It snug up the drive train, and no NVH. I have rebuilt both the 5sp and 6sp transmissions, and after seeing the way they are built, I do not believe that torque and remote shifters are causing the shifting problems. I think it caused by the gate plate, and rails that control the forks. I think the rails are to flexible, and i think that is why it took Tremec so long to bring the T56 mag S197 to market. They had to make sure it would shift correctly before they could sell it.

It must help a lot some where cause ford started putting on a brace on all 08+ mustangs, before it was only convertibles and gt500s

Re: CHE K-member brace

I though you were asking about the torque limiters that CHE makes optional for there K brace. As far as the brace it self, it was made to help with pressure on the rear control arm bushing and share the load on both rear K member mounts,

Us I was asking about the torque limiters too, just figured its worth a shot for that cheap price, everyone with them on other boards like them a lot

Re: CHE K-member brace

I like mine, and che is the only one making it that i know of , but most people that buy them as a shifting fix are disappointed.

If I shift at 5700 or 5800 I can nail third every time but anything past 6000 forget about it unless you take your time

So there's nothing left of the trans to miss shift haha, I'll try it tho just sick of it, I was on like a roll of like 20 races without a miss shift but now I'm on a 5 race streak and i just get so pissed, I hate these trans

But there might be truth to the 6700 thing, cause my buddy says he never has a problem with third, and he shifts at 7000 which I think is to high but he said 2-3 is his favorite gear change

I was going to try that but that doesn't change the fact it's a remote mount shifter
