Spoiler/Louvers Paint Suggestions

Hey all. It's been a month or longer since posting my intro but I've been tweaking my first mustang to my liking since.
  • Short antenna
  • Decorative half plate chrome pony for the front
  • Carbon fiber shift knob (Amazon [on the way])
  • Black leather shift boot with red stitching (Redline AWESOME btw!)
  • Shift boot retainer shaft, black (American Muscle)
  • Cold Air intake (Amazon)
  • Quarter window louvers (American Muscle [on the way])

Here's where I'm looking for input. The spoiler that was put on by the dealer was left unpainted black to match the carbon fiber decals and other black accents on my car. The louvers that will be here tonight are also black unpainted and my initial plan was to make sure they are a close match to the spoiler and leave them as is. Now, since I had to wait three days for them to come, I'm thinking I should pull the spoiler and paint both it and the louvers a flat/matte black!

It's a good problem to have because it makes owning the car that much more fun, but a lot of you have had more modular experience and I want my car to look the best it can! I've attached a photo of my car (spoiler view and front carbon fiber decal I want to match view).

Thanks!

ooosadface,

Wow, Your car is coming along nicely!

I love the red & black scheme you went with. I would recommend test fitting them unpainted & see how you like the look. If they are up to par on what you expect out of the car then leave them black!

Either way I don't think you can go wrong. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help!

Check this photo out of a Red 2007 GT.(has them painted to match)

Separating colors takes away from body lines IMO... paint to match is my vote... if you like non functional items that have to be put on with tape...

Re: Spoiler/Louvers Paint Suggestions

AMDanBailer: Thanks for the info. When i got home from work the louvers were here and they do not match the unpainted spoiler so I will be visiting a local paint shop.

I'm really leaning towards the black still, the pic you linked to is sleek, but I like some pop.

My car is already red with pops of carbon fiber black stripes and most of the hood. I believe the louvers and spoiler, being black, will balance that. Not to mention I loved the black look when my buddy held it up to the side for me.

Anyway, I won't have them as two different blacks so to the paint shop it is. Thanks!

Crap, I forgot the most expensive alteration. I replaced the Shaker 500 with a Pioneer AVH-P1400DVD. Love it!
