How to make 3V sound like a 2V?

So I really like the sound of the 2V mustang gt. I like the hollow sound it has. Is it possible to achieve that sound with my 3V? What setup would sound closest to a 2V?

Their is a difference in the 2v to 3v. More rumble not raspy like the 3v.Get the two years beside each other you will see.

2V have a more hollow sound. Almost everyone will tell you there Is no better sound than a 2V gt or a 4V cobra. Even the LS1 guys envy the sound lol

According to the late, great, Joe Gosinski of Chicane Motorsports, the difference is not the engines, but rather the exhaust systems. He did not like the mufflers mounted under the rear bumper at the very end of the system. The 2v had mid mufflers and a much shorter system. I have not heard a 3v with a mid system, yet. I once heard one with open long tube headers that sounded incredible.

3v sound horrible on my 4th set up trying to acheive this... closest thing I've encountered is custom mid mount with cams... even then it does not compare.... once I obtain port in polished heads,Canada, frpp intake... w custom mid mount mufflers... I should be satisfied... I hope... if not I will throw high flow cats and resonators mid mounted and magnaflow axle backs on w a twin screw blower... that way all you hear is blower: -D

So surprised the aftermarket didn't get this eliminated. Borla or some other dedicated company.

Obtain Canada, eh? Lol.
The whole mid-mount mufflers vs. rear mount mufflers is an interesting theory.

Re: How to make 3V sound like a 2V?

Out of ALL the things that was said here, the only thing that was interesting tech info was the subject of the Mufflers being put in different locations on the 2V and 3V. That was interesting and hardly anyone else spoke on the subject, I found it to be a interesting reason of the sound difference, more so than people just saying: This one sounds bad that one sounds great.
