What exhaust do you have on your gt?

Hey guys. Looking into some on American muscle, and was listening to clips on YouTube, but I really am having a hard time choosing.

I don't think the videos do much justice for the real sound.

So I wanted to see what you guys use, and what you think of them.

I'm going for the loudest, meanest I can find.

Thanks!

Cranker,

I think I know just the sound you're looking for. Pypes Pype-Bomb Super system cat-back has a killer growl and is definitely loud! If you're looking for even more sound/power, look into getting a high flow or Off Road mid-pipe as well. With an aftermarket mid-pipe mated up to the Pype-bomb system, your mustang will really scream.

Let me know if this is the style you're looking for or if I you're interested in something else!

Shane

I have flow master outlaws on mine and they sound beast although either I got used to it or they got a little quieter at idle when I switched my cai. Still, they turn heads everywhere I go.

I have Borla S type axle backs. Deep, nice sound. Not super loud. I think I might add mid pipes later. Well made exhaust. Really happy with them.

I don't know if they get better with time, but my Borla S-type stingers sounded good when I first put them on about 3 weeks ago. And now it seems like they sound even better. Louder, deeper, from idle to wide open, I'm REALLY glad I spent a little more for these. Well worth it!!

I noticed that too when I put mine on. Could just be BS but I read somewhere saying that after the exhaust heats up so much it burns out some gunk in the muffler which opens up the chamber or Some crap like that lol

I have Pypes LTs, O/R X Pipe & Violators The mufflers do a great job at sounding very quiet and street legal noise wise when under3k. Over 3k and it gets exponentially louder.

I have exact set up. I'll change the mufflers again when I hear the sound I'm looking for in person. Over all tho, It's a great sound.

I feel you completely on the sound clips been through them countless times looking for that deep throaty classic muscle car sound and still have no clue. Reading around it seems magna flow fits that and it seems like ppl agree that H pipes are a deeper growl an x pipes are more raspy?? Correct me if I'm wrong just the interpretation I'm coming up with

Re: What exhaust do you have on your gt?

The key to being the loudest is getting some long tubes. Then just straight pipe it through.

If you want the meanest sounding, take my word for it.
BBK Shorty Headers
Pypes Catless XPipe
Flowmaster American Thunder

This is what I have and I get asked all the time what exhaust I'm running. It's loud, but not too loud. And it has the perfect tone for the 3v motor.

I built my own muffler delete. Took the stock mufflers and cut the in let and tip off and straight piped it. Only cost me 8$ and I get compliments all the time. (LOUD)

I have an off road x and flowmaster 40 catbak on my new gt. But if I was to get a new exhaust, its long tube headers, off road x, and magnapack catbak with 3.5" slash tips with insulators on the outside to save my paint!

It's not very tinny at all, listen to it on a desktop speakers or stereo, it's a very deep hollow noise, it does have some tin noise but that's signature flowmaster sound, also your Borlas trumpet 2200-3300 rpm which is annoying as hell
