Weight

I have an 07' 427R. Ive seen a lot of talk around that these vehicles way in the 3500 to 3800 lb range. I looked at the factory sticker on the driver side door sill and it states that my weight is over 4400 lbs. Is this correct? Any feedback?

Also I would love some information on the gearing ratio I am hearing about. What would be the difference between 3.55 and 3.73. I am a beginner with a fast car so any type of information you are willing to type I would love to hear. Thank You

Find a truck stop with a scale and weigh it. I never weighed mine but always heard 3800ish. Not really sure

Re: Weight

Nice response. I read up on the gear ratio as well so anyone that reads the thread unless i am wrong there is really no difference. At least not any that would be noticeable. thanks vista

3.55 to 3.73 wouldn't be a significant difference, you want a good difference go 4.10's everybody is always happy with the performance!

Re: Weight

How would I figure out what is in my car now? Ive heard they come stock with 3.55 but it seems my bottom end speed produces pretty high rpms. 80 mph is 2500. Normal?

I am under the impression after 06 3.55s wasn't standard, check your axle cover or door sticker

Pretty sure you do have 3.55's. With my 4.10's at 80 mph I'm at about 2900-3000 RPM's. If you can't figure it out though, put your car on a lift where your tires hang free with it in neutral and the brake off. Then mark a spot on the drive shaft and turn one of the rear wheels with your hand for 10 revolutions. Count the number of times that the drive shaft rotates, then divide that by 10. That number will give you your approximate gear.

Why not just turn the wheel once.

I dunno. Never really thought about it, I just read about how to do it and it worked. Seems like just turning it once would work.
