Future mods?

Ok well I've been really debating trying to get into a new 5.0 now that I've got a car for my wife I don't HAVE to sell my 05 anymore.

I was just wondering if I could get some input from anyone that's made the 05-09 to 11+ car jump.

Is it even worth it to mod the crap out of my 05? I could do cams long tubes suspension and a pretty nice supercharger set up by next summer. BUT. Id still owe around 15k on the car and by the time I spent .. What maybe 7k on supercharger 1.5k on cams 1,200 on longtubes and maybe 1.5k in tires/suspension id be about 11-12k into a car that can't push over 450 rwhp on the stock block??? I could get the 2013 I want for around $37,000 and could even get a used 2011 for $25,000 ish and slap a super charger on it.

If I spend 37k I won't have ANY mod money.
Decisions decisions ... My dream number is 650 rwhp.. I'm just not seeing that out of my 05...

I would get the 5.0. Looks great and has so much more potential IMO. If it wasn't so expensive I would've went with one :/

Yea the 13 is sick.. A lot more money though. I would settle with a 11-13 cus they have the sleeker design and the 5.0 !

It's tough bud, I was offered a 2012 with 7,200mi on it, for my car and 10grand. I got over it tho, till I went to the US Nationals yesterday and saw the "gotta have it green" in person. Pictures do not come close to describing this color.

Yea I'm dreaming of a 2013 GT in gotta have it green.. And going from the 300 HP 05 to the 420 or whatever in the 13' might be enough to keep me happy until I can start the mods.

You were talking selling, trading is the only way to get your money back. You do know tho that 2015 is only 16months away, then you'll be right back where you are now.

Well I just want 600+ HP I'm not too interested in a 2015 I can't imagine them being anywhere near the 5.0 jump. They would have to come with 550HP and that's just not happening

You already have a Sharp *** car, look at the saleen motor at brenspeed. They'll swap your motor out, store it and sell commission free. They get you $2000-$2500 for your old motor. I've talked to a shop about building mine and they want $7,500 and up to build mine. I'm thinking the saleen motor now, but I have a good business opportunity that I think is gonna put the toys on hold, till next year anyway.

Won't I need a built trans and rear end and all kinds of other work? I was under the impression that getting my 05 to 600 HP SAFLEY would cost more than a new 5.0

There is ways to strengthen your stock axle and tranny, a better tranny cooler and a aftermarket diff cover will lengthen your time

Your comparing apples to oranges, a new 5.0 is not at 600hp either. I'm just throwing suggestions out there that will keep you out of divorce court and the poor house.

Just for comparison it cost around 7-9k and you could have over 600 whp in a 5.0. These cars can run safe at that level to, there are a few shops that have put over 20k miles on a stock block and over 600 to the wheels

Dude, you can get the Brenspeed V3 package, cams & long tubes that will get you 450 to 500 to the wheels for around $5,500. That plus the right suspension and gear set up and your 05 will be a beast. Do you want 650 WHP to drag race or is this a daily driver?
