Hi guys new to the site and was making a short term mod list and since mustangs are new to me I wanted to make sure my list looks decent.
I plan on these next mods:
Steeda axle back exhaust
Hurst short throw shifter
Steeda cai with bama tune
And I believe I'll need a new clutch so the exedy 400 series clutch.
Are the brand quality ok? Any mods you'd recommend over these or of these mods which ones should be first?
Thanks for any help, Andrew

I would suggest dropping the car, getting some new springs and shocks this will help you a lot in cornering and launching and better center of gravity, also will make it look better

Yea it looks good, tuner and CAI is a good wake up for the stang, maybe gears. I've never heard the steeda axle back

To my knowledge it's identical to Borla, just branded steeda and is cheaper in price. Design, sound, and quality is the same.

Hmm maybe the design and sound are the same but maybe not quality, steeda makes good quality parts but borla only makes exhaust components so maybe it might be better made. But if it's cheaper than yea go for it.

If youre looking for big power then save those 7k and get a turbo or a supercharger

Re: Mod plans

Nice car!

I just got my mustang as well and looking to start the mods. I was planning on CAI/Tune and then to exhaust. Haven't researched which I plan on using but those are my starting points.

Nice list but unless your stock clutch is going out then I would hold off on a clutch

I hear ya! I just need a better sound but bang for buck I agree cai tuner is the best first mod. I may just get a tuner first then add the cai later since the tuner alone adds quiet a bit

I have 4.10's in my GT and it was the best money I've ever spent in my opinion tuner, CAI and gears. The gears made my car a beast I've got an. Auto tho I'm not sure the best gears for a manual. Probably 3.73's

I had 4.10's put in my GT back in march. The gears were like $130 and I payed the ford dealer $650 for install but I had other shops quote me as low as $375. At the time I had added

BBK 62mm TB. FRPP CAI. Summit racing offroad H pipe. Steeda under drive pullies and the bamma 93 race tune. The gears made more of a difference than everything else put together except for the tune (wich is required for gears anyway.)

Gears and a tune will REALLY make a difference you can FEEL.

Id say get a CAI / bamma tunes combo kit You can get them from Amercain muscle. Than get Ford Racing gears.

I hear ya, I'll probably get the axleback and short throw for my own personal preferences. But then once I focus on performance those look to be my best choices!

Make the car feel nice and look like you want it to first. I focused totally on performance mods and honestly how often do you take it out and just rip through the gears and go 140 lol. Mines a DD so most of my driving is under 55mph

Exactly, get the exhaust note I like, the better shifts from a short throw.. Then get into the go fast stuff.
Any opinions on the non functional pre painted hood scoops at AM? Can't tell If it's worth 200$

It's very raspy in my own opinion. I like a exhaust that is mild when I want it to be and loud if i so choose. Magnaflow is my typical choice but it is just way too quiet on the mustang versus my old Trans am.

I've only had flow-masters on all my cars lol. The flowmasters sound HORRIBLE with out cats. I hate the way my car sounds. The worst thing I ever did was put the offroad h pipe on.

I would go with some new to you parts from some of the forums or CL. You can find GREAT deals on Like new condition parts for cheap and they are just as good. I did Kooks LTS with HF cats,CAI and 93 race tune from Bama (already had 4.10s) all at the same time on my 07 and it was like driving a different car. The 4.10s paired with everything else would really snap your neck into the headrest whenever you wanted.

I'm just going to bump my thread..

I'm looking to get a h pipe that pairs with the stock manifolds.
What brand do you recommend. I'm not going for the top of the line but a solid brand with good build quality. Also what is your typical cost for installation for anyone that had a shop put it in for you?
Thanks for any recommendations.

Pacesetters one for 120, check summitracing.com
I just put my x pipe back on took about an hour by myself with floor stands.

I paid to have it switched in the fall for 80 bucks and took them 30 mins on the lift with air tools
