Re: nos or supercharger?

but i have heard its not good on the engine to put a supercharger in since its my daily car and to just put nos for now so i can use it only when i want. is it true that it will put too much stress on my engine if i put a supercharger in it

Depends on boost levels really, and anytime you put more power in a motor than it was designed for its gonna be stressful. Just keep it safe in the low 400 range with a great tune and you should be fine. Nitrous can also be very harmful if not done correctly. It's all a risk really. Just have a proper install and a good tuner

I know there's one guy on here that has had a supercharger on how car for quite some time with over 6-digit mileage

Spray will always be more detrimental to your motor than a blower... go w a non root style blower so you only build boost once you hit 3k rpm it's great for daily use...

Centri is great, lots of power from those, more efficient that roots or twin screw, and runs cooler, low/no boost at low rpms but runs like a scalded dog up top

Brenspeed has a kit for our cars using a vortech... includes everything you need for under 4k and you will make better more consistent power than w a cheap $500+ 150 shot... plus will not effect the integrity of your motor

There are constantly debates in the 10-14 section about twin screw vs centri so if you don't find any in the 05-09 (I would be surprised if you didn't) then you could at least learn benefits and drawbacks of them,

Don't forget twin screw / centri vs tvs roots!!! And Turbos while you are at it.

All comes down to usage and price (and looks.... Duh).

Bottles are for babies
Real men get blown

I have mine supercharged however I am a 2011

Centri is a safer set up since the boost doesn't kick in until about 3k. It is not unsafe to do it as long as you don't get crazy with the boost levels. It is like everything out there with a car. If you beat on it constantly you are going to break something which can happen with nos as much as it can happen with an sc. Nitrous kits are cheaper but if u want consistent power and also not have a pressurized bomb in ur trunk forced induction is the way to go.

Supercharger of course. Permanent power over something temporary that you have to keep filling up.

Re: nos or supercharger?

I have the V3 vortech from Brenspeed and love it. I have the 12 pound pulley and I was Dynoed at 527rwhp and 438 torque. The great thing with the centri is that you can drive all day and not use the boost unless you want it. Did notice at the track that I'm getting most of my power halfway down the track, so I'm ha ing 373 installed
Tomorrow to give me the low end acceleration. Also block is still stock. I know several people pushing over 470 with out issues, but it depends on how you treat the car.

How long have you been running 527 to the wheels through the stock block? I'm surprised a rod hasn't shot through your block.

I have been running for about 6 months. Torque is the main thing you want to keep below 450. The tune is very conservative and I also am not beating the car. The centrifical is a lot safer than the twin screw type. While driving barely ever go into boost on the street.

Ya that's what I wanna do. Either Paxton or vortech. I like how it's easier on the motor for daily driving. Then I'll crank up the boost once I go forged. How do you like the vortech?

It's for the tvs2300 from roush. $6284-$254 if you have a sct already. That's on the 560hp, 520hp is a little cheaper. I'm not seeing any special codes.

So the deal is only on the roush tvs2300? Of course they don't have the deal on the supercharger I'd like to go with. Lol

I have a complete vortech v-2 HO kit rebuilt last year (5000 km) ago from vortech and have the receipt.. I want $3000 for it, it is polished with after cooler and turbo smart blow off valve 3 or 4 pulleys and a spare belt $3000 is a steal in my opinion.. I just removed it from my car and put a kenne bell mammoth kit on it.

How much boost can it push? And how much hp to the wheels?
