Intake

Ordered a BBK intake through AM for my GT, after a couple months, engine light came on due to a "lean code" but AM said it didn't require a tune? Should I just toughen up and by a tune? Or is it something else? I would assume the sensor would adjust.

What's the code on the light? If it took a couple of months it might have gotten loose.

Thejustang,

BBK does advertise that Intake as a no tune required set up. You shouldn't be getting a code from this set up but occasionally it does go a little lean. However a Tune will definitely get rid of the CEL and dial in your fuel trims, along with giving you all the other benefits of a tuner. You're not causing any harm to your car at the moment, however I'd recommend a tune!

I hope this helps, let me know if I can be of any assistance!

-Dan

Dan,

So if I put it back on tomorrow and left it on for 2 weeks, I'd be okay?

Thejustang,

Yes you should be fine. As long as you're not beating on the car you should be fine for 2 weeks! Just to be sure I would recommend giving BBK a call directly.

If you have any concerns, feel free to give the Bama team a call! Our Bama Performance tuning specialists are here in the building Monday-Friday from 9AM-5:30PM EST and Saturday 9AM-5:30PM EST. You can hit them up directly at 888.226.9764 and they'll get you squared away!
