New Clutch on 08gt

I have an 08 GT Steeda Q350

Has 40,000 miles on it.
Looking to buy a full clutch assembly. As I have only had it for a month, I don't have the precious maintenance records. Only clean carfax.
So I'm looking to do some preventative maintenance.

Am I going in the right direction as far as the right clutch with 350 whp? Or bump it up to the Exedy Mach 500 stage 3?
I do plan on adding a few more horses and don't wanna have to buy another clutch to accommodate the increase.

Is your mustang a DD? Some of the performance clutches effect the drivability or a rather still clutch pedal.

Yes it's my daily driver.

Just don't wanna put something in that's gonna push the limits of it. And I want a lil room for upgrades too.

How much power do you plan to gain with upgrades? I guess that would be a sure way to match the right clutch with your needs.

As per Steeda specs, my car has 368'lb torque and 350hp. 12.7 1/4 mile. I haven't tracked it and I won't be tracking it

And once I drop the money to go FI, then I'll splurge to get the performance clutch to handle that extra power.

I have also read that when replacing the clutch, its a good idea to use Ford Racing throw out bearing. Instead of the one provided. Can't find it anywhere tho

That combo was recommended to me by Jake Lamotta. Look him up, he's no joke. He's dynotuning my car next Friday. It's very drivable and not much firmer than stock.

And honestly I wouldn't bother doing a clutch right now unless its slipping or failing otherwise. Just a waste of money at this point in time. Do other mods first.

Thanks. I'm just getting parts that I'll need. I have the $ so it's no biggie. Just getting parts so that when it does need them, I don't have to wait, I'll already have them on hand

Well I can't build much of a sleeper cause it already looks like a beast.

See that's the thing. I want longevity out of my motor. I'd in no way just slap a charger on it.
I'd like to go with a whipple
But not sure if the stock block can handle it for as long as I wanna keep the car. So I'd probably need to build a motor huh?

Building the motor is the best thing to do even if your only at 400 or 450 to the wheels. Is it something that HAS to be done at this HP level? No. But the tune is the most important thing. The stock block can handle the whipple with about 450-475 to the wheels. Anything over that and it won't be Long before you see a rod though the block. With a great tune and this HP level you should be ok. But if you plan on bigger HP down the road then you'll need to build the motor.

Another thing that's hurting me is I didn't get the tuner when I bought the car. So the tune is locked in. Steeda says they can send me a custom tune. So when I do supporting mods, I'll need that to retune the car.
This is the first car I've ever owned that used handheld tuners and has locked in tunes. Or should I say, the first car that I've ever had with significant hp and had the money to mod

Guess I'll focus on getting tune/tuner and adding cams, ford racing intake manifold, not sure if I'll have to upgrade any of the fuel system or not. But well see

If I were to get bama tuner, is that just the tuner itself? Or is that the CAI and tuner?
And if I were to get that, would I have to return the tune to the original stock tune before I put a different tune in? Cause like I said, the tune on it now is locked in and I don't have the tuner.
I just notice that Bama tuners thru AM have free tunes for life.

I just notice that Bama tuners thru AM have free tunes for life.
You can get the combo package that has the cold air intake and tuner included. Or buy the tuner by itself but its a better deal to get the intake and tuner together. And you would have to set the car back to stock before uploading the new tune from bama. It's a great deal because everytime you add a new mod that requires a tune you just call bama and tell them what you've added and they will send you a new tune.

I surely don't want to be left with 1 option with a locked in tune and an unmoddable(is that a word, lol) motor
