Do not cut the coils. That's just stupid. And the ride will be horrible. Invest in some lowering springs

im not sure if 05+ springs are linear or progressive...but if they are like 79-04 springs cutting is ok and normal to do...you aren't weakening the spring to an extent...personally testing this i've found 3 coils is the limit before the rate is shot. on 99-04's a good cut is 1.25 coils off the front and 1 coil off the back. using a cutting wheel of course and not a torch. that's where people go wrong and horror stories start...using a torch to heat the coils changes its temper which destorys its rate.

OP no matter what you do just make sure you take your time and enjoy. Check out AM as well...they are running great prices on lowering springs for christmas...also keep researching online and see if 05+ springs will cut the same as every other mustang. good luck

1 coil in the front and 2 coils in the rear for perfect drop. Gives you 1.25" drop in front and 1.75" in rear. Anymore than that and you will need an adjustable Panhard bar, CC plates, bolts, etc.

Or, you can just buy some TEIN S.Tech lowering springs for 200.00 like I did and get almost same drop and a lot better quality ride...

By the way...

None of my current pictures show my car with the springs on yet. So don't try and compare it.

Ya it's not worth it to cut corners on this. Just get lowering springs and be done with it

Don't cut. It ruins the ride quality and everything feels spongy. Just go buy a good set of eibachs or H&Rs. you won't be disappointed and they are much better springs than the factory ones ford put on.

Spaceghost,

I realize you're trying to save money by having the springs cut, but there's definitely better options out there than that. I do believe the factory 05+ springs are progressive and not standard, so cutting them will affect the way the car rides.

Check out our SR Performance lowering springs if you want a quality lowering spring for an affordable price. These springs are going for $169.99 with free shipping, right now. This should help you keep a little more cash in your pocket, instead of purchasing a higher end lowering spring from the top suspension specialists, like Eibach, H&R, etc. Of course, if you want to spend a little more and get a high end performance spring, we have those too. I just wanted you to be aware of all of your options!

Let me know if I can assist you with anything else!

Shane
