take a look at carcomplaints.com this is a website where car owners make complaints, looks like the 04 05 06 07 had a few problems but mostly related to fit and finnish parts of the car. So the driveline (engine and transmission) were plenty good. The best thing to do is look for a well cared for car owned by an older adult owner who has other nice things. A private party car is a lot better value, I guess it all depends on what you are looking for. Mileage is of course the biggest issue with any car so the lower it is the better off you are, be choosy, do not buy someone elses crap car. The honda civic would be the way to go as far as insurance, some of them had major problems in fact far more than the same year mustang which is unusual for toyota. In the end it is up to you, what do you want to ride in?

dude mustangs are good except that year lol..... anyways dont get a rx8 because its rotary engine and when something goes wrong lots of money. rotory is oldschool crap man no one wants to work on that crap. just get a civic si its a the sport version makes very good power and many upgrades in the future...

Do NOT buy a mustang. They are not refered to as mustakes for no reason. Don't no much about r8s except that they are rotary engine. Civics are know to run good if you treet them right. But what ever you do dont think any of those cars will be fast because they aren't.
