Tachometer incorrect

Well, I had my hotrod cams and exhaust put in and tuned. Just got it back today. While talking about what my mechanic managed to accomplish with his tune he informed me that my tachometer was way off and that he wasn't positive what the problem was yet or how to fix it. He also pointed out mine is the third one he's noticed like this. Anyone have an idea what the deal is?

I heard 05s have gauge problems, look into that.

Awesome. And with that I have found some to order. Guess I'll share with my mechanic since he does hook me up pretty well.
