Battery Gauge A little High

So my battery voltage had been goin about 3/4 high sometimes.. I got a nee battery a few months ago because my old one died.. So i'm guessing that now i need a new alternator? Right?

Put a meter on it and see what the actual voltage is, first. Should be around 14 volts.

While it's running, you can touch the leads to the battery cables. If it's a normal voltage and the gauge reads high, then it's probably gauge related. If it's charging too high, then it's probably the alt.

So im prety sure its my voltage regator then because i tested to alt and everything looked good

My gauge reads exactly the same and I have no problems.

Mmm at least it makes me fill better to know im not the only how long has your gauge read like that? Mine just started about 3 weeks ago

Normal range is usally just midway. Since you're charging checks out, you should be good.
