I saw a pair of Big Mutha Thumpr Cams for $333. I was just wondering would buying used cams be a good idea? The sellers they are like new and has great reviews and feedback so it seems like a legit seller.
I think you will also need phaser limiters but im not 100% sure about that.[/QUOTE]
Detroit Rockers are the only ones that I've seen that don't need phase limiters. Some say recommended but not required, whereas you're taking a chance. You will need new cam bolts, they are stretched upon install and have to replaced with any cam. Depending on mileage, you may need to change the VCT sprockets. I trashed one at 97K and had to replace it. AM sells a cam install kit for a little over $300. It's a helluva deal, you'd pay $265 for one sprocket by itself. The kit has both, along with bolts, chains, other sprockets, etc.
