BBK and K&N CAI experience

Hey people looking for some experience of anyone thats used a bbk cold air intake or K& N on their 05-09 mustang gt. I'm currently in the market for a cai and tuner and found a k&n and a bbk cai on craiglist for cheap. I figured if they where decent I could save a little money on my build and go with one of those and just order the bama tuner off of AM.

Anyone have any experience with either of these? I've researched them through google and read reviews but I like to get first hand opinions as well.

Its all in the tune so you honestly get what you can afford and like. But keep in mine some are diffrent in diameter so that will help out later on if you continue building. I personally have airaid. It performs well and looks great under the hood

I don't plan on doing a lot for the time being, simple bolts on are enough while the warranty is still on here. I did read that the more I did the more I would need one of the better cai's but by the time the warranty expires I'd prob just go for broke and install a vortech! I just need somethings for right now to wake up the mustang.

hmm, do you know if the jlt series 2 requires a tune? Somebody just put one of those on the local craiglist.

It sounds like you've already been pointed in the right direction. This all comes down to personal preference and your budget! A K&N or BBK CAI will perform just fine, you may see more power out of an AIRAID or JLT because of the larger diameter etc.. but the difference wont be huge.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions or need some assistance. Our Bama Performance tuning specialists are here in the building Monday-Friday from 9AM-5:30PM EST and Saturday 9AM-5:30PM EST. You can hit them up directly at 888.226.9764 and they'll get you squared away!
